Cafe Drama II

-sweetie, you can put your eyes back in their sockets now – she scolds gently and sips melted dark chocolate from her cup.

-what do you mean? – he asks, trying to put up a nonchalant air.

-I mean that you have been staring at that woman for the last 10 minutes. It is a wonder her partner has not come to break your nose yet.

-no I haven’t – he counters even though they both know it is true. And, while he is a good liar, she is an even better people reader, so this type of conversation never lasts very long.

-well, -he finally admits after the reluctant silence that engulfs them both.-she is just somebody I never expected to see again, that’s all.

-how so? – she asks.

-I used to know her before, before my divorce. but I thought she was living abroad.

He knows she can hear the difference in his voice, that slight thinning that comes with talking about sensitive issues.

-we kind of had a short affair for a while. –he admits, not waiting for the question. She does not speak.

-look, I am a different man now –he continues. – since I met you, I have no need of anybody else.

-I am not a cheater –he insists, while she still does not speak – but I was so unhappy then, so unfulfilled.

-that woman seduced me! –he whispers angrily – I was weak, you have to understand. She seduced me, then she became unmanageable and I wanted to break it up.

-poor innocent victim – she says, slowly licking the spoon in such a fashion that could be very insulting, if it does not remind him of the prowess of her tongue.

-then what happened? She go to your wife? – she wants to know having no respect at all for his visible wound.

-she betrayed me. – he says and stops. He cannot hold it for long though. She knows. She waits.

-she sent me pictures of my wife with somebody else.-he says, a miserable look in his face. –so I got divorced and became bitter towards all women. Only you, only you helped me regain faith.

– I did? – she asks, a bit surprised at his candor. While he loudly voices his feelings a tad too often, he rarely admits what her hold on him really is.

He is still looking at the other woman, deeply in conversation with her own partner, seemingly unaware of the rest of the world. Yep that is what she used to do with him too, that slut, give him her undivided attention, make him think he was the only man in the world. And the fool he was, he believed her bullshit. Oh well, he knows better now.

-I have to leave. –the girl announces – My break is over.

She gets up, bends over slightly to give him a kiss ( a touch of luscious lips, nothing more) and then retreats, without seeing his surprised face. When the waiter comes with the bill, he pays and leaves as well, a sinking feeling on his stomach that only another lost game can bring.

  2. girl …these coffe drama is a great find.could suit great to some short movies too..
    enjoyed both of them..
what I can’t understand is , why men feel theirselves so damn connected to such kind of women?
    I guess that’s because they’re sense blind:))
looking forward for the rest of this serial…hugs

  3. eni, ke pytja jote belqim nimojn’ i cik ene k’to vargje (i ke lexu sot n’mjes, mos m’thuj qe s’i ma men)

Një kuçke gjithnjë i besove më shumë se një murgeshe,
Se shumë, po aq shumë të pëlqeu të gënjeheshe.
Dhe “të lodhmet” llagar me llërët fildish aq shumë i deshe.

  4. Blete,

I like it. It makes sense. But this would be part IV, right?😀

so, … is the woman; the other one, who is still there; going over to him to say: hello darling!😛 Part V?

  5. blete, mos bjer ne ngasje nga njona qe i bo shkrimet e veta me 10 pjese…😉 😛 😛

PS thuj t’fala monit, ke tema tjeter… se s’di a do jem rrotull kur t’vi ai ene patrokli per i llaf’ e muhabet….

ps2 do kesh bo naj gjeme qe s’po nihesh gjith’ uikendin…..😉 amon, jo prap me pucra with congestion… 😛 😛

  6. “she is an even better people reader” – kjo fraza nuk me tingellon mire, blete; qendron edhe sic eshte, por sec ka dicka ku pengohet.

Perndryshe terheqese, me pelqen dialogu; ai tafa tingellon shume eager to please/convince her, thus kinda fake: Why then does she stay with this loozah

  7. nuk gjeta dot fraze me te mire dhe me te shkurter.
his problem is thus, he fancied himself a ladies man, and therefore was at a loss to see why anybody (cafe drama 1) would sleep around when they had him.
later it turns out his wife had cheated on him too and the sacred principles he believes in (an honest wife) are no more.
he probbably begins to see that he is the problem but cannot pinpoint it yet, so he chooses a much younger girl as his next “serious” relationship but he is choosing her for all the wrong reasons and she does not want to end up like his wife, pampered, adored upon a piedestal and touched only on national holidays. for she is smart enough to know that he will “see” her imperfections one day and will blame her for them, not his own voluntary blindness.
but feelings are strange bedfellows and he is a nice person, probably charming, probably handsome, for sure well-off and has an absolute air of the unlucky in love that women find irresistible.
and thus ends my imaginary world. thanks for asking.

  8. “[He] has an absolute air of the unlucky in love that women find irresistible.”

Were it so, were it so…🙂

  9. Maybe I`m not looking at the right moment (voluntary blindness?), but that’s beside the point. Even though I agree with the cited phrase, I find this inclination of women toward “hopeless/luckless – in – love ” men more like a manifestation of their motherly instinct than that of gender attraction.

  10. “cannot pinpoint it yet, so he chooses a much younger girl as his next “serious” relationship but he is choosing her for all the wrong reasons and she does not want to end up like his wife, pampered, adored upon a piedestal and touched only on national holidays. for she is smart enough to know that he will “see” her imperfections one day and will blame her for them, not his own voluntary blindness.”

Blete, no one word too much. And I agree with losttext: sit down, write 10 pages and go shoping (not by car, please, we need you). Then you go on, may be with the next 5 pages. Then you go holydaying. Then you come back and write 10 pages. You see, they are already 25, deadpoint over. Go for it girl!

  11. lost, if it gets you in their beds, what does it matter where the attraction comes from? keep your eye on the prize my man.
self, i planned the whole thing in my head, i sat down, and typed the first twenty pages and it evaporated. i know how to finish it too, but it keeps getting sidetracked because there are so many other things that pop in my mind.
but i will follow yours and lost’s advise for it is good and it suits me (all that shopping!)

  12. “lost, if it gets you in their beds, what does it matter where the attraction comes from? keep your eye on the prize my man.”

I don’t think that’s the point,( it would be too sad if it were), but will do, spo ja ndajm syte prajzit
